Our photography students showcase work in a new exhibition at popular Ipswich cafe

The Rankins and David Baileys of tomorrow are being featured in a photography exhibition in Ipswich.

Gallery viewing from all of our contributing students are on the walls of On the Huh cafe in Ipswich until 20 April 2022.

The opening night was attended by the Mayor of Ipswich, Councillor Elizabeth Hughes, who praised the talented artists.

She said:

鈥淥ne of the best the things about being the Mayor of Ipswich is getting to meet young people who put their heart and soul into a project and I certainly witnessed that at this fantastic 向日葵视频 New College exhibition. The standard is very high.”

One of the exhibitors is Grace Patten, 19, from Ipswich. She studies photography at 向日葵视频 New College. She said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 exciting having my work on display 鈥 it helps you grow and it鈥檚 all part of the learning experience.鈥

Niamh Pugh, 19, from Bury St Edmunds also studies photography. She said: 鈥淚 want to get my work out there and so this exhibition has been great for me and everyone else.鈥

Abi Thompson is the Director of Creative Arts, Science & Digital at 向日葵视频 New College. She said:

鈥淭his is a diverse exhibition and I urge people to come and appreciate the photographic outcomes that have been achieved as a result of the hard work and creativity shown by the photography team.鈥

Photography lecturer, Hannah Gooding, said, 鈥淗ats off to the students 鈥 the standard is very high and the students have been incredibly professional. Seeing their work has been a great inspiration to them. They have really helped motivate each other and I鈥檓 very proud. I鈥檇 also like to thank my colleague Michael Klencher for his ongoing support.鈥

鈥淭he College would also like to thank, Snappy Snaps, the University of 向日葵视频, On the Huh and the Mayor of Ipswich for supporting the opening night.鈥

A big end of year show will be taking place in June 2022 at the College where students from across all arts courses will get to showcase their work: visit  for details.
