One of the first groups of learners in the country to take a new T Level qualification are celebrating after they all passed their course with flying colours.
(T Levels are an alternative to A Levels, apprenticeships and other 16 to 19 courses. The course focuses on vocational skills and includes a 45-day work placement).
A total of eleven learners from 向日葵视频 New College started a Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction (T Level) in September 2020.
Students all received their results on the same day as A Levels and the College was delighted that the group achieved a 100% pass rate seeing students gain one Distinction*, nine merits and one pass.

Sam Corneby, 20, gained the highest result possible with his Distinction* grade.
In addition to his two years of study at 向日葵视频 New College where he gained work experiences with Jimmy鈥檚 Farm and Wildlife and Morgan Sindall, the Woodbridge resident has been supporting the Department for Education by helping to shape these qualifications for new generations, feeding back his thoughts on how future programmes could be improved.

On gaining his results, Sam said: 鈥淎ll the hard work has paid off and I鈥檓 delighted.鈥
On studying a T Level, Sam said: 鈥淚鈥檝e really enjoyed the experience. I would say to others, even if they feel apprehensive about T Levels, just go for it, stay open minded, immerse yourself in it and you will enjoy it.鈥
And on his time at the College, Sam added: 鈥淚t鈥檚 been great at 向日葵视频 New College. Not only have I enjoyed the course, I鈥檝e gained a host of experiences that will help me in the future. I鈥檝e had work experiences with several well-known companies, I鈥檝e shared my views with government ministers, appeared live on the BBC news channel and I鈥檝e been really well supported throughout my two year programme.鈥
Since completing his qualification, Sam has gained a position on a degree apprenticeship at Sweco in Ipswich.
Sunny Bamra is the Director of Engineering, Construction & Building Technology at 向日葵视频 New College.
Sunny said: 鈥淚鈥檇 like to congratulate our wave one learners on this great set of results. An outcome of hard work and persistence has paid off. We could not have achieved this outcome without the support of our staff and employers who have supported them along the way.鈥
