This qualification will appeal to those who use a teleporter as part of their work in agriculture, horticulture or distribution and warehousing. This course provides instruction and assessment for lift truck operators on rough terrain or telescopic forklifts. It has been developed to cover the 鈥渂asic training鈥� requirements of the Approved Code of Practice for Rider Operated Forklift Trucks. This does not replace any legal requirement for a driving licence.
The assessment covers the associated differences between use, operation and maintenance of the machines, pre-use maintenance and safety checks, recognition of controls and instruments. The course content includes: Safety, Machine Suitability, Practice, Instruction, and Principles of Operation.聽 The course fee includes the NPTC assessment, which is arranged to take place after the training. You will be required to take a practical test where the teleporter is driven around a suitable course, and the operator will be required to move and stack various loads. The test will also include one-to-one verbal questioning.
You will need to bring: PPE and writing materials to take your own course notes on the day.
Assessment: This course leads to the C&G NPTC Award 0014-16 via competency assessment. Assessment will take place separately from your training course; the date and time will be arranged directly with the NPTC. 聽Please submit a clear, passport-style photo to fiona.green@ccn.ac.uk in advance of your course for your ID card registration. NPTC – Disabilities and Access Arrangements: Please inform us immediately, if you have not already done so, of any disabilities that may disadvantage you in successful completion of your assessment; for example, if you have dyslexia or English is not your first language, or any mild disability which may require you to have some assistance. Under guidance from C&G, we are able to make access arrangements for some learners to demonstrate their competence under assessment, without changing the demands of that assessment. Examples of access arrangements include: readers, scribes, extra time, or modified assessment material. However, as Certificates of Competence are vocational qualifications, candidates must achieve all the required units to gain a full qualification, and the awarding body will not make adjustments to the required competence standards. As an example, pesticide product labels detail essential information, and it is of paramount importance that a candidate is able to read and interpret this information to comply with legislative and operational requirements. If the candidate is unable to read and/or interpret a product label without assistance, then they will not be deemed competent to practice.
