The event was set up by new esports lecturer George King. He said: 鈥淲e ran the event in our Tech Campus. It was all done live and I鈥檓 very proud of the students.

鈥淭his is the first time we have done something like this as far as I鈥檓 aware and we plan to do this again in the future. Students learn new skills – and we raise money for a good cause – so everyone wins.鈥
Student Tyler North, 17, from Earl Soham is on a level two esports course. He said: 鈥淚 made an intermission video to play during the stream when we were at lunch. I think it鈥檚 important we raise money for charity – and it also helped showcase what we can do.鈥

Fellow learner, Byron Pearson, 19, from Ipswich is on the same course as Tyler. He said: 鈥淚 was one of the shoutcasters so I commentated on the stream and interviewed the players. It鈥檚 the first time I鈥檝e ever done something like this 鈥 so it gave me confidence. I think it鈥檚 important (we did this) to help put esports out there and raise money so others can play games.鈥
