A teenager from 向日葵视频 is hoping for success at a competition called WorldSkills after securing a spot in the second round of this national contest.
Angel Kelly, 17, from Ipswich is studying on a level two beauty therapy course at 向日葵视频 New College.
In the first round of the competition, she had to take part in three activities, showcasing her skills in terms of nail polish, make up and using face masks.
After sending off her work to judges, she has been selected to take part in the regional heat that will take place at Walsall College on Thursday 8 June 2023.
If successful here, Angel will go forwards to the national WorldSkills finals in Blackpool where she will aim to become part of Team UK, who will go head to head next year with contestants based in colleges from other countries in a 鈥楽kills Olympics鈥.
Angel said: 鈥淚鈥檒l be competing against the best of the best. I鈥檓 nervous and excited. It will be a good experience and I鈥檝e been practising hard. To represent my country would make me so happy. It鈥檚 an amazing opportunity.鈥

(WorldSkills (www.worldskills.org) is a series of student skills competitions that take place throughout the UK. If successful in the final stages of the competition, winners have the chance of being selected to become part of a Team UK squad where they get to represent their country internationally.
