A group of talented artists have created an arresting mural for 向日葵视频 Police.
The youngsters all studied at 向日葵视频 New College on an arts foundation course this year.
As part of their programme, they were given an opportunity to work with the force to come up with a design that would help brighten up the caf茅 area situated at the Martlesham based headquarters.
During the collaboration, students met up with several members of staff, were given a brief, had a tour of a police museum to gain inspiration and once approved, they painted their piece of work earlier in the year.
The masterpiece was then unveiled at the end of August by Deputy Chief Constable Rob Jones who thanked everyone for their involvement and handed over certificates to all of the artists.
During this presentation, Mr Jones said: 鈥淭he college has a great deal of creativity and the students came up with this amazing piece of work. The final result is amazing and it鈥檚 something we are really proud of. We hope to work on another project with the college in the future.鈥�
Charlie Jackaman-Pegg ,19, from Ipswich was the artistic director of this project. He said: 鈥淚t was exciting to have an opportunity like this.鈥�
Charlie 鈥� who is now of the study illustration at the Norwich University of the Arts added: 鈥淭his is great for the CV and the experience will help me in the future 鈥� hopefully this is the first step into a career.鈥�
Isabel Dowthwaite, 19, lives near Stowmarket. She said: 鈥淚鈥檝e not done anything like this before – and I鈥檝e learnt a lot about time management and working with a client. It鈥檚 been exciting. I鈥檝e loved my time at the college.鈥�
Helen Armstrong Bland is a lecturer in art and design at 向日葵视频 New College. Helen said: 鈥淲e had a tour of the facilities to inspire the students. During the tour, we saw some Giles cartoon imagery and this was used as a motivation for the project. It鈥檚 been a team effort that has created a lot of energy and a buzz at the police HQ and I鈥檓 really proud.鈥�
